Hollis Claude Peace, 92, of Valdosta, died on Thursday , February 6, 2020 at Langdale Hospice House. Born in Brooks County on November 13, 1927, he was a son of the late Benjamin Claude Peace and Ann Elizabeth Crosby Peace. A U.S. Marine, Mr. Peace served his country during WWII. He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed hunting with the Withlacoochee Hunting Club. Mr. Peace retired from the Lerio Corporation where he worked as Plant Manager. He was a member of the Central Avenue Church of Christ.
Survivors are his daughters and son-in-law, Ann Peace of Valdosta, Linda and C. E. Fender of Carrollton; grandson, Gene Fender of Englewood, Colorado; a sister, Ann Bray of Valdosta; sister-in-law, Elaine Peace Howe and her husband, Jim, of Marietta; brother-in-law, Ed Hightower of Valdosta; many special nieces, nephews, and family friends. Mr. Peace was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Taylor Peace, a brother, Mack Peace, Sr., sister, Madlyn Peace Hightower, brother-in-law, Robert Bray, sister-in-law, Thelma McGuire.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at two p.m. Mr. John Klimko and Mr. Michael Bass will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Langdale Hospice 2263 Pineview Drive Valdosta GA 31602.
