Herman Louis Brasher, Jr., 73, of Valdosta passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Langdale Hospice House after a brief illness. He was born in Valdosta on October 10, 1944 to the late Herman Louis, Sr. and Annie Mae Mayne Brasher. Mr. Brasher was a member of Northside Baptist Church where he faithfully served his Lord Jesus. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and granddaddy. Mr. Brasher loved fishing, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and participating in church activities. He was a 1963 graduate of Valdosta High School and retired from Colquitt EMC after twenty five years of service. Mr. Brasher is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, LaRita Stone Brasher.
Survivors include his three daughters and sons in law, Lori Brasher Everett and John Everett of Thomasville, Julie Brasher Blodgett and Ed Blodgett, Jan Brasher all of Valdosta; five grandchildren, Coleman Pollock, Ashley Blodgett, Harrison Stewart, Anderson Everett, Owen Everett; his sister and brother in law, Barbara Brasher Crews and Ron Crews of Valdosta; two brothers in law and sisters in law, Derrell and Becky Stone of Valdosta, Steve and Scottie Stone of Fitzgerald; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Northside Baptist Church with Dr. Robby Foster officiating. Entombment will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Northside Baptist Church from 9:30am-11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Langdale Hospice House, 2263 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, GA 31602.
