Herbert Hoover McDonald, 78, of Valdosta, died Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on November 27, 1928 in Lowndes County to the late T. B. and Belle Giddens McDonald. Mr. McDonald was retired from Orkin Pest Control, was a member of Charity Baptist Church, an avid hunter, gardener and loved taking care of his yards.
He is survived by one daughter and son in law, Debbie and Terry Reagan of Valdosta, grandsons and their spouses, Brian and Katie Reagan, Marcus and Roxanne Reagan and Josh Reagan, great grandson, McLean Reagan, nieces, Sara Crow, Mary Rudeseal, Jenny Vaughn, Ginny Wooten, Shirley Sainz, Elaine Bellflower, nephews, Linton Swindell, Pat Wells and Tommy Parkerson, numerous great nieces and nephews. Mr. McDonald was predeceased by his wife of fifty four years, Dorothy Helen McDonald on June 13, 2004 and is also predeceased by four sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 13, 2007 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Lee Graham, Dr. Clyde Stokes and Mr. Brian Reagan officiating. Burial will follow in Cat Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Friday at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, Maryland 20814.
