Henry Ronald (Ronnie) Lastinger, 80, of Hahira died on Friday, February 24, 2023 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born in Brooks County, Georgia on June 13, 1942, to the late Troy Edward and Nancy Irene Cunningham Lastinger. He was a 1961 graduate of Brooks County High School and was a veteran with the Army National Guard. Ronnie graduated X-ray technician school at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta in 1963 and was employed and retired as an X-ray Technician for over 50 years with Smith Hospital in Hahira and Smith Northview in Valdosta. He was known for being a hard worker who loved his Lord, his family, and his country. He was also enjoyed studying and reading God's word and would share of his love for the Lord. Ronnie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hahira.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Anne Lastinger of Hahira; his son and his partner, Stephen Ronald Lastinger and Diane Tillman both of Valdosta; a daughter, Cindi Marie Lastinger Fender of Hahira; his grandchildren and their spouses, Maci and Quade Hall of Lake Park, and Chason and Emilie Carpenter of Hahira; his great-grandchildren, Harper Anne Hall and Weston Dewayne Hall both of Hahira; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Elizabeth Swann of Quitman, and Catherine and Kirby Logue of Bainbridge; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Lastinger and Neil Lastinger.
Services for Ronnie Lastinger will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Hahira with Pastor David Gordon officiating. The burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4-6 p.m.at the Martin/McLane Funeral Home in Hahira.
