Henry (Hj) Jackson Platt, Jr

Henry (HJ) Jackson Platt, Jr. 90, of Lake Park died Thursday, August 10, 2017 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born on May 31, 1927 in Mayo, Florida to the late Henry Jackson, Sr. and Jewel Lisles Platt and had lived in Lake Park for thirty years. He was a Baptist and retired from the State of Florida as an heavy equipment operator.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Carol Platt of Lake Park, two daughters and sons in law, Angela and Steve Ricker of Severville, TN, Debbie and Chuck Schmitzer of Stuart, FL; two sons and daughters in law, Allan and Rosie Platt of Lake Park, David and Cheryl Platt of Ft. Pierce, FL; six grandchildren, Jason (Becky) Platt, Justin (Tanya) Platt, Davey (Dawn) Platt, Amy (Jeff) Howard, Amanda (Rashid) Zubi, Evan Schmitzer; 9-great grandchildren; one sister and brother in law, Mary Ann and Gary Whitten of Raiford, FL; two brothers and a sister in law, Edward Platt, Joe and Rachel Platt all of Dowling Park, FL. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, August 12, 2017 in the chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park with Chaplain Jeff May officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1-2pm at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home.
