Henry Clower Snow, 89, of Valdosta, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at Heritage House Nursing Home after a short illness.
He was born August 2, 1921 in Quitman, a son of the late James Henry and Essie Folsom Snow. For many years he co-owned and operated Snow Motors, Valdosta, with his twin brother, James Calvin Snow, Sr. After retiring from auto sales he enjoyed operating heavy equipment and loved being outdoors. Mr. Snow was a member of Central Avenue Church of Christ.
He is survived by a grandson, Emory Griffis and wife Jenna of Valdosta; a granddaughter, Betsy Hamlett and husband Bill of Quitman; two great-grandchildren, Kailey and Cason Griffis; one sister, JoAnn Mayer and husband Tommy of Quitman; two nieces, Elizabeth Ann Miller and husband Paul of Lake Park, and Suzanne Dasher and husband Ken of Valdosta; and three nephews, James C. Snow, Jr. of Lake Park, Timmy Mayer and wife Teresa, and Mike Mayer, all of Quitman. He was predeceased by his wife Betsy Ross Snow, daughter, Alisa Griffis, and his twin brother, James Calvin Snow, Sr.
Funeral Services for Mr. Snow will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2011 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Bryan Jarvis officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, June 2, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
