Henry Clayton Sharpe, Sr.

Henry Clayton Sharpe, Sr., 82, of Hahira died Saturday, November 7, 2009 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in Hahira on September 13, 1927 to the late Daniel Talbot, Sr. and Essie Mae Turner Sharpe. Mr. Sharpe was a member of the Hahira United Methodist Church and a veteran of the United States Navy. He loved to fish, travel and was an avid fan of crossword puzzles. The Hahira Supper Club was a very important part of his life.

Survivors include his son and daughter in law, Henry Clayton, Jr. and Francine Sharpe of Rocklin, Calif., granddaughters, Daisy Sharpe and Amanda Krupa both of Rocklin, Calif., several nieces and nephews, three stepsons and their families, Bryant Stoneham, Jim Stoneham and Al Stoneham all of Raleigh, NC. and lifelong family friend, Eula Copeland of Hahira. He was preceded in death by his wives, Regina Geiger Sharpe and Harriette Folsom Sharpe, a brother, Daniel Talbot Sharpe, Jr. and a sister, Mary Helen Kazlousky.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Tuesday, November 10, 2009 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Lynn Hurley and Rev. Ken Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Hahira United Methodist Church, P. O.
