Helen Parramore Miller, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Lewis Columbus Parramore and Ruby Beville Parramore. She was born on May 18, 1928 in Lowndes County, GA. Mrs. Miller taught piano for 25 years and was a member of Benevolence Baptist Church. She was a church pianist for many years, a W.M.U. leader and involved in other church activities. She was a member of Valdosta Eastern Star Chapter joining in 1951 with her mother and husband, G.P. “Bob” Miller. She served the local chapter as organist, other officers and Worthy Matron. She served in Grand Chapter Eastern Star as Grand Chaplain elected as a Line Officer and served as Worthy Grand Matron 1967 and 1968. She also served as General Grand Chapter Committee member.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her nephews and their spouses, Steve Bennett and April Bennett, and Bobby Bennett and Missy Bennett, both of Clyattville, GA; many great nieces and great nephews; and special friends Sara Crow and Linda Peace. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, G.P. “Bob” Miller, and brothers, Lester Hines, James Parramore, Harry Parramore, sister, Mary Beckham, and nephew Jesse Hugh Lineberger.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Monday, November 29, 2021 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Eastern Star Valdosta Chapter 244, Board of Eastern Star, 2302 South Sherwood Drive, Valdosta, GA 31602.
