Helen Louisa Morgan

Helen Louisa Morgan, 91, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday November13, 2013 at her residence following a lengthy illness. Born to the late Rufus Boyce Wilson and Bess Louisa Wilcox Wilson in Hoffman, NC, she then grew up in Gastonia, NC. Prior to moving to Valdosta in the late 1960's, she lived in Charlotte, NC and had managed a Dairy Queen there for many years. Upon her arrival in Valdosta, she went to work for her brother at Cakes, Cakes, Cakes at Harvey's Grocery Store, where she worked for more than 30 years. Mrs. Morgan was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church and the Sally Cranford Sunday School class. She was also a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a mighty prayer warrior, a giver to all in need and will be greatly missed by her family.

Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Cindy & Wayne Fann of Valdosta; two grandsons and a spouse, Ashley Fann and Elliott & Christa Fann, all of Valdosta; five great-grandchildren, Christopher Fann, Emmie Fann, Montgomery Fann, Isabelle Fann and Joseph Fann, all of Valdosta. Also surviving are two sisters, Patricia Boyette and Eleanor Gum, both of Valdosta, and a brother Eugene W. & Marge Wilson, of Valdosta, local nephews and a neice, William Gum, Jeff Boyette and Beth Sawyer and many other nephews and nieces and two very special adopted family members Lindy Savelle and Lynn Petermann, She was preceded in death by three sisters & two brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday November 15, 2013 at First Presbyterian Church. Rev. Jerry Long and Rev. John Akers will officiate. A reception will be held at the church after the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 313 N. Patterson St., Valdosta, GA 31601.
