Helen Carter Frier

Helen Carter Frier, 68, of Echols County died Monday, August 20, 2012 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Sparks, Georgia on December 1, 1943 to the late A. T., Sr. and Sampie Lou Bennett Carter and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. Frier was a member of Swilley Hill Church of God and retired from South Georgia Medical Center. She served as a pastor's wife for thirty two years.

Survivors include her husband of fifty years, Bobby Frier, Sr. of Echols County, a daughter and son in law, Pam Frier Burnett of Echols County, three sons and two daughters in law, Bobby, Jr. and Susan Frier of Echols County, Kevin and Tammy Frier of Albany, GA., Phillip Frier of Echols County, 11-grandchildren, 3-great grandchildren, one brother and sister in law, A. T., Jr. and Betty Carter of Lake Placid, Fla., three sisters and brothers in law, Ethelle and Dale Frier, Louelle and Donald Bass all of Hahira, Linda Faye and James Earl Nelson of Alford, Fla. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eloise Slaughter and Louise Chancey.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Thursday, August 23, 2012 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, 2215 N. Patterson St., Valdosta, GA 31602. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery in Hahira. Bishop Ray Dawson, Rev. Jonathan Church, Bishop W. A. Bingham and Rev. Wayne Owens will officiate.
