Hazel Yancey Coan, 89, of Villa Rica and formerly of Valdosta died Thursday, September 18, 2014. She was born on November 3, 1924 in Eastman to the late Jeff Davis Yancey and Donnie Wynn Yancey and had lived in Valdosta for many years before moving to Villa Rica. Mrs. Coan was a charter member of the Northside Baptist Church in Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her husband, M. Frank Coan.
Survivors include two sons and daughters in law, Laurice and Nan Coan of Villa Rica and Frank and Trudy Coan of Sarasota, FL.; five grandchildren, Brian and Julie Coan, JoLynn Scott, Frank, Jr. and Jill Coan, Mary Love and Jamie Gaverick, Katy and Mark Walker, 11-great grandchildren, her twin sister, Edna Arthur of Ashburn, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, September 20, 2014 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas M. Reddick and Rev. Robert Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1pm until service time at the funeral home.
