Hazel Spell Whitehead

Hazel Spell Whitehead, age 81, of Valdosta, passed Friday May 10, 2013 at Fellowship Home following a period of declining health. She was born in Nashville, Georgia to the late William and Lillie Purvis Spell and was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church and Loving Hearts Sunday School Class. She was a retired operator for AT&T.

Mrs. Whitehead is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, two sons and a daughter-in-law, Renee Califf (Steve) ; Cecil Whitehead (Jana) and Mike Whitehead all of Valdosta; four grandchildren, Blake Whitehead (Amy), Danielle Whitehead, Dax Spriggs, Dustin Spriggs; one great grandson Cason Whitehead, all of Valdosta. Also surviving is one sister, Ruth Stalvey of Valdosta; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends at Ashton Meadows. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Cecil Lawrence Whitehead, Sr.

Funeral services for Mrs. Whitehead will be held Tuesday May 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with the Rev Michael Bass officiating with interment following in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
