Hazel Ray Barker

Hazel Ray Barker, 92, of Valdosta passed away Friday, November 21, 2014 in Valdosta. She was born on August 3, 1922 in Nashville, GA and was the daughter of C. C. and Mamie Ray of Nashville, both deceased. Mrs. Barker is preceded in death by her husband, Finice Barker, a brother, C. H. Ray of Nashville and two sisters, Carie Lanier and Louise Morris of Nashville.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Sirois and Carol Barker of Hahira and daughter, Kay Barker Henry of Valdosta, two brothers, Elby Ray of Havanna, FL and Howard Ray of Nashville, six grandchildren, Kevin and Meredith Barker, Brinson and Lori Barker, Brad Henry, Shawn Henry, Shane and Julie Henry, Meredith and Davey Staten and thirteen great grandchildren.

Mrs. Barker started and managed several businesses in her lifetime, loved gardening and was a member of Valdosta Garden Center and won many awards. She was a member of New Covenant Church of Valdosta.
