Hazel Monteen Futch, 81, of Cecil, GA died Sunday, November 28, 2004. She was born April 20, 1923 to the late Lucious Robert (Bob) and Iris Taylor Futch. Miss Futch had lived in Cecil since 1947, was the retired postmaster of the Cecil post office and attended Salem United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Robert Jackson (Jack) Futch and one niece, Donna White Staley.
Miss Futch is survived by one sister and brother in law, Raney Futch White and Donald E. White of Cecil, two nephews and their wives, Robert and Pam White of Greensboro, NC and David and Kelly White of Alpharetta, GA, three great nephews and wife, Wes and Robin Staley of Kennesaw, GA, Kenneth Staley of Aiken, SC and Alex White of Athens, GA, three great nieces, Margaret Ann White of Atlanta, Logan White and Lael White of Alpharetta, GA.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 30, 2004 at three p. m. in the Salem United Methodist Church with Reverend Jim Houseal and Mr. Charlie Merwin officiating. She will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from six until eight p. m. at the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira. Flowers will be accepted of donations may be made to Salem United Methodist Church.
