Hazel Juanita Carter

September 11, 1938 — October 9, 2019

Hazel Juanita Carter, 81, of Lake Park, died on Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at Berrien Nursing Center in Nashville. Born on September 11, 1938, in Ft. Pierce, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Carroll Royals and Clyde Kirkland Royals. Mrs. Carter was a homemaker and a member of Antioch Community Church. Her children sing her praises as a mother and grandmother. Clinton says that she was the best fishing partner, and Latrelle gives her mother credit as a role model in teaching her how to raise her children and care for her husband. Marty will always remember his mother as the absolute best friend as well as a loving mother and grandmother, and for being a wonderful God-fearing woman. Her grandchildren, Patrick and Payton will always remember the good times they had fishing with their grandmother at Banks Lake.
Preceded in death by her husband, Willie Martin Carter; she is survived by her children, Latrelle and Sean Harvey of Patterson, Martin T. Carter and Clinton and Judy Carter of Lake Park; grandchildren, Melissa and Billy Jones of Cedar Town, Angela Brady of Blackshear, Patrick and Payton Carter of Valdosta; great grandchildren, Nathan Jones, Alexis Jones, Christian Jones, Hunter Watson and Carter Brady; a sister, Joyce Fisher of Louisville, Kentucky, several nieces, nephews and other family members. She was also preceded in death by a son, Andrew Carter, two infant daughters and a grandson, Benjamin Carter.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Sardis Baptist Church. Reverend Mickey Corbett will officiate.
Burial will follow at Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
