Hazel Jeanette Warren Harper

Hazel Jeanette Warren Harper, 87, of Hahira, died on Saturday, May 22, 2021, at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born in Hahira on October 9, 1933 to the late David and Mae Presley Warren. Mrs. Harper retired from the Lowndes County Board of Education as a bus driver and was a member of Hahira Church of God. She was known for her forthrightness and humor and loved to laugh and make others laugh as well. She was an avid Braves fan, enjoyed knitting, and found enjoyment in the challenges of crossword puzzles. Above all, family was the most important priority and she loved everyone family member and her friend with all of her heart.
She is survived by her children, Brad and Linda Brown of Lutz, Florida, Connie and Floyd Sirmans of Clyattville, and Lloyd and Joy Dumas of Hahira; her step-children, Kathy and Mike Whittington of Tifton, Wanda Nelson of Jacksonville, and Robby Dale and Linda Harper of California; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Teresa Mixon of Hahira; two brothers-in-law, Everett Roark of Valdosta and George Gentry of Tampa; numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her husband, John Lankford Harper; her daughter and son in law, Jackie and Larry Devane; her sisters, Carolyn Roark, Louelle Carter, Jean Gentry, and Ella Mae Bellflowers; her brothers, Charles David Warren, Samp Warren and Chesley Warren.
Services for Hazel Harper will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane.
