Havard Alfred Blanton

Havard Alfred Blanton, 80, of Valdosta, died at his home on Friday, July 16, 2010. Born in Valdosta on February 12, 1930, he was the son of the late Henry Alfred Blanton and Rena Smith Blanton. Mr. Blanton was a farmer and was retired from the retail grocery business. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was an avid race car fan.

Survivors include Jeanine, "The Boss Lady" of Valdosta; daughters and son in law, Laura Nell and Buddy Stephenson, Libby Jean Blanton of Valdosta; grandsons, Tripp Stephenson, Scott Stephenson, Bart and Casey Stephenson of Hahira; great grandchildren, Kimberly Stephenson of Albany, Kylie Spencer of Valdosta; brothers and sisters in law, Arthur and Frances Blanton, Claude and Mary Blanton of Valdosta; sisters and brother in law, Anna and Paul White of Valdosta, Lois Ellis of Valdosta. Mr. Blanton was preceded in death by his brothers, L.A., Albert and Melvin Blanton and his sisters, Zelphia Rentz and Kathleen Thompson.

Graveside services and interment will be held on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Redland Church of Christ Cemetery. Reverend Jay Watkins will officiate.
