Harry P. Joiner, 82, of Valdosta, was reunited in heaven with his wife, Robbie, on Friday, November 4, 2011. Born in Valdosta on April 1, 1929, he was the son of the late Julian and Luel Joiner. He was a graduate of Valdosta High School and Southern College of Pharmacy, now known as Mercer School of Pharmacy, in Atlanta. Mr. Joiner proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was a true patriot. Next to his love for his family, his passion was being a caregiver to others as was exemplified in his strong work ethic. Mr. Joiner owned and operated Joiner’s Napier Pharmacy in Macon, Georgia, for 35 years before relocating to Valdosta where he retired from CVS and continued serving as a relief pharmacist for several of his close friends who owned local pharmacies. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church where he actively participated in and thoroughly enjoyed traveling with the seniors’ ministry. He was an avid fan of the Valdosta Wildcats, Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. Mr. Joiner was a loving husband, wonderful father, adoring grandfather and had a genuine love for life and people. He never met a stranger, had a perpetual smile and endearing personality. His remaining family includes two daughters, Terri Joseph and husband Bobby of Valdosta, Lynn Arnett and husband Tim of Homestead, Florida; five grandchildren, Jessi Joseph of Atlanta, Cortni Joseph of Valdosta, Ella, Eli and Billie Arnett of Homestead, Florida; sister Helen Grant of Dublin, Georgia; sisters in law Merle Reddick of Valdosta, Evelyn Whitefield of Atlanta. His deceased family members include his wife, Robbie Whitefield Joiner, brothers in law Arthur Grant, Haynes Reddick and Earl Whitefield. Friends and family are invited to attend visitation at McLane Funeral Home from 4pm – 6pm on Sunday, November 6, 2011. There will be a celebration of his life on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 11am at Northside Baptist Church. Reverend Bob Willis and Mr. Terry Hiers will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church, 200 E. Park Ave., Valdosta, GA 31602.
