Harry Nadack, 93, of Valdosta died Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at his home. He was born in Huntsburg, Ohio on May 13, 1920 to the late William and Theodosia Nadack. Mr. Nadack was a veteran of the United States Air Force having been in the first group to serve at Moody Air Force Base. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Mr. Nadack played golf at Francis Lake every Thursday and was a member of a bowling team in Valdosta for more than fifty years.
During his Moody enlistment, he frequently came into Valdosta and bought candy at the local dime store. The girl that sold the candy became his wife for 63 years. He was a salesman in the Valdosta area for more than 30 years. He retired, but continued to work part time at Nero Tire for the rest of his life. He won't be there to make the coffee now, but he will always be loved and remembered.
Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Jenny and Rick Gilbride of Valdosta, grandchildren and their spouses, Ginger and Jack Neece of Tallahassee, FL, Leigh and Brad Wise of Alabama, Katie and Bryan Bulmer of Statesboro, Greg Mullis of Atlanta, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Coody Nadack, a daughter, Jeanette Nadack and three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services with military honors will be held at 10am, Saturday, October 5, 2013 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with his grandson Bryan Bulmer officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Pearlman Cancer Center, P. O.
