Harry G. Moody, 85, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on April 15, 2024.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Chapel of Hart’s Mortuary at the Cupola, with Reverend Joe McDaniel and Reverend Leigh Halverson officiating.  The family will greet friends following the service at Hart’s at the Cupola. Burial will be private at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the USO in honor of Mr. Harry G. Moody by visiting www.secure.uso.org. 

Harry was born on February 25, 1939, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Walter Thomas Moody, Sr. And Jennie Irene Smith Moody.   Harry graduated from Lanier High School in Macon and attended Mercer University.  He graduated from John A. Gupton School of Mortuary Science in Nashville, Tennesse.  He began his career at Hart’s Mortuary in 1960 where he served as licensed embalmer, funeral director, and vice-president.  Harry also was a casket salesman at Georgia Casket Company, Batesville Casket Company, and Southland Casket Company. Harry was a resident of Valdosta, GA, from 1971 - 1987 and was a member of First Baptist Church during that time.

Harry married the love of his life, Patsy Jones in 1966.  He proudly served in the United Stated Army Reserves for twenty years where he retired as a Sergeant Major. 

Harry was a faithful member of Vineville Baptist Church.  He also was a member of the Georgia Funeral Supply Salesmen's Association, the Academy of Graduate Embalmers of Georgia, the Association of the U.S. Army, and the National Association of Uniformed Services. 

Harry is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Patricia “Patsy” Moody; his daughter, Jennie M. Keys (Chris) of Macon; his son, SSGT Neal C. Moody of Macon; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Duck Moody, Cotton Moody, Berry Moody, John Moody, Richard Moody, and Jacquelyn M. Lindberg.
