Harold Harper

Harold Harper, 94, of Hahira died Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at his home. He was born on August 6, 1912 in Randolph County, Georgia to the late Dr. T. F. and Gertrude Hall Harper and had lived in this area since 1997. Mr. Harper was formerly of Cartersville and was retired as a salesman from General Electric Supply. Mr. Harper was a member of the Hahira United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Marines serving in World War II and was a Shriner for more than fifty years.

Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Caye and Mike McLochlin of Hahira, granddaughter and her husband, Amy McLochlin Rhodes and Scott Rhodes of Hahira, great grandson, Konner Rhodes of Hahira, sisters in law and brother in law, Lucy and Barney Griffis of Hahira and Robbie Stubbs of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Stubbs Harper.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, August 4, 2007 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Morgan and Rev. Lynn Hurley officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, P. O.
