Harold D. Johnson, 82, of Valdosta, died on Thursday, November 26, 2009, at South Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. Born in Stockton, in 1927, he was the son of the late Leon Johnson and Mae Timmerman Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a retired foreman for Lee Engineering and was a member of Forest Street United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Rachel Johnson of Valdosta; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Dale Johnson, and Paul L. & Elsie Johnson all of Stockton; two sisters and a brother in law, Monteen Clanton, of Orlando FL, and Sara Lou & Donald Seckinger of Stockton; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Johnson of Valdosta and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Robert R (Bobby) Johnson of Valdosta.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Carlton Allen and Rev. Jeri Pruette officiating. Burial will follow at Wayfare Cemetery.
