Guythea M. Preston

Guythea M. Preston, 74, of Valdosta died at her residence on Saturday, August 9, 2008 following a lengthy illness. She was born in Berlin, Georgia on April 27, 1934 to the late George and Myrtle Rogers Wade. She worked in retail sales in various stores throughout her life. She was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna Bramlett of Harvey, Louisiana, and Dana Thomas of Valdosta; grandchildren and their spouses, Cathy and Rich Rome of Houma, Louisiana, Doug and Christa Bramlett of Camden, Arkansas, and Mandy Anderson of Valdosta; great-grandchildren, Gregory Christian, Griffin Rome, Kodie Bramlett, Paul Bramlett, John Anderson, and Emily Anderson; former grandson-in-law, Justin Anderson of Valdosta; sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen and Jim Wallace of Valdosta and Anita and Richard Chandler of Bell Canyon, California; a brother, Rodney Wade; numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Charles Preston and a sister Beth Cody.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Justin Anderson and Rev. Charlie Scarbrough officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Grace Hospice 410 Cowart Avenue Valdosta, Georgia 31602.
