Guadalupe Duran, 85, of Lake Park, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2012, at her home.
She was born July 25, 1926 in Uriangato, Guanajuato, Mexico, a daughter of the late Ventura and Soledad Chavez Aguilera. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses Hispanic Congregation of Valdosta. She loved spending time with her family, buying dresses and shoes, and eating cheese and cactus with peas.
Her favorite bible verses were Psalm 83:18, Revelations 21:4 and Matthew 24:14. She has hope of being in Paradise in the future.
In addition to her husband, Miguel Duran of Lake Park, she is survived by three sons, Miguel Duran, Jr. of Lake Park, Isaac Duran of Lake Park, and Francisco and wife Carmen Duran of Sarasota, FL; five daughters, Guadalupe and husband Jesus Sanchez of McAllen, TX, Petra Duran of Lake Park, Josefina Duran of Bradenton, FL, Maria and husband Sergio Gonzalez of Lake Park, and Elvira Duran of Bradenton, FL; numerous grandchildren. She was the youngest of her siblings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by ten children.
A Memorial Service will be held 6:00 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Hwy 41 South, Valdosta. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home, Valdosta.
