Grover Cleveland Arnold, Iii

Grover Cleveland (Cleve) Arnold, III, 55, of Valdosta, died suddenly on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Langdale Hospice House. He was born on January 26, 1954 in Valdosta. Cleve was a graduate of Valdosta High School and Valdosta State University where he received a degree in Accounting. He worked for many years as a financial planner with American Express Financial Services and retired 3 years ago from Ameriprize. He loved being outside, both at his home and at the family farm. Cleve loved hunting and fishing and was an excellent cook on the grill and smoker. He was devoted to humbly serving others in any way they needed. Cleve was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was a member of Central Avenue Church of Christ.

Cleve is survived by his wife, Dee Arnold of Valdosta; daughter, Emily Arnold of Parris Island, SC; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and David Roddey of Hahira; parents-in-law, George and Martha Jean Clayton of Valdosta; sister-in-law, Sheree Clayton Hudson of Valdosta; eight aunts and uncles and he was especially close to his uncle, Durward Arnold of Valdosta. He is also survived by 4 nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. Cleve was preceded in death by his parents, G.C. and Jewell Arnold.

Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2009 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Bryan Jarvis and Mr. John Klimko officiating. Burial will follow in Dasher cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
