Grady Folsom, 83, of Valdosta, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2020. He was born in Moultrie on June 9, 1936 to the late Remer E. and Pearlie Hatchett Folsom. He retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years, where he served a tour of duty in Vietnam. Grady also was a sales associate with Sears. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Valdosta. He enjoyed working in his yards, was active with the Break Bread Together program at First Presbyterian Church, and served in the mended hearts program at SGMC.
Grady is survived by his daughter Debbie (Danny) Hunnicutt, of Valdosta; his step daughters Jennifer “Susie” (David) Belancsik, of Johnson City, NY, and Julie (Greg) Protheroe, of Chapin, SC; a stepson James R. “Rusty” Lineberger, of Jacksonville, AR; fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren; a brother James E. (Loraine) Folsom, of Valdosta; brother in law Sandy (Brenda) Ellison, of Gainesville, FL; sister in law Geraldine “Gerry” Folsom, of Quitman, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Judith Ellison Folsom, a son David K. Folsom, a brother Marion M. Folsom, a sister Eva Lou Folsom, and grandson Logun Nowell.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2020 at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with Dr. Glenda Hollingshead officiating.
