Grady E. “Pa Pa” Sudderth, 64, of Lake Park, died on Thursday, September 6, 2007, at his home. Formerly of Atlanta, he was born in Buford, Georgia on April 22, 1943, was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sudderth and had made his home in Lake Park since 1996. He was a truck driver for Rountree Construction and had also worked for Badcock of Lake Park. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Hanson, Florida. Mr. Sudderth was a wonderful husband and best friend to his wife of 31 years and a wonderful father and grandfather. Affectionately known as “Pa Pa” he is gone from our lives but not from our hearts.
Survivors are his wife, Josephine Sudderth of Lake Park; daughter and son in law, Crystal and Chris Williams of Lake Park; step son, Alfred Hendrix of Hahira; step-daughters and step-son-in-law, Myra and John Moore of Hahira, step daughter, Dana Snyder of Valdosta, son, Joseph Sanford Sudderth of Sacramento, California, daughter, Sherry Sue Sudderth of Atlanta; grandchildren, Joseph and Jennifer Pettus of Lake Park, Courtnee Pettus, “Pa Pa’s” Angel, of Lake Park, Candice and Tiffany Hennessey of Brunswick and Valdosta, Marcus Ransom, Samantha Scott of Valdosta, and five other grandchildren; sisters, Grace Turner, Gloria Smith, Linda Sue Baker of Dawsonville; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2007, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Reverend Murrell Bennett will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 5 - 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
