Glynda Avera Zaun

November 16, 1943 — February 14, 2021

Glynda Avera Zaun went home to be with God on Sunday, February 14, 2021, where she entered into eternal rest.
Glynda was born in Valdosta, Georgia at Moody Air Force Base to John and Louise Avera Collins and was a life-long resident of Valdosta.
She had a deep abiding commitment and love for God as well as her family and friends. She was a member of Christ the King Episcopal church and sang in the choir for many years. Her favorite bible scripture was Romans 8:28.
Glynda enjoyed writing, and computerized digital painting and blessed her family and friends with her poems, quotes, her faith in God and her digital art. She was an avid animal lover and was known for her willingness to share her home with abandoned dogs and cats. She worked as the secretary-office manager for her late husband's landscaping and design company for over 20 years, until he passed away in September 2006, and continued in that capacity when their son, Wayne continued to operate his father's business.
She is survived by her beloved son, Wayne Lorenzo, of Valdosta, special cousins, Marilyn and Jim Rittinger, and Gayle Callahan of Chillicothe, Ohio, Jeff and David Rittinger of Columbus, Ohio, Betty and Tommy Exum, Cheryl Rice, Georgianne Bauer and Brian Yeomans all of Valdosta as well as very special friends, Debbie and Tim Holton, Karen and Curtis Shealy, Linda Clark, Nancy Jordan Harrell, Georgia Kelley and Emily and James Ingram, and my precious Eniza de Guzman.
Glynda is preceded in death, by her husband, Andrew Charles (Ricky) Zaun, her parents John and Louise Collins, sister, Carolyn Collins, her maternal grandmother Carrie Cook Avera and paternal grandmother Mae Collins-Fanning, cousin, Jerry Emond, brother-in-law Richard Zaun as well as a very special friend, Lisa Lee.
