Glenn F. Denmark

Glenn F. Denmark, 76, of Valdosta, died on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Langdale Hospice House. Glenn was born on April 22, 1941 in Winter Haven, FL to the late Robert F. & Ouida Denmark. He graduated from Haines City High School in 1959. After graduation, he worked briefly in the Dundee/Winter Haven area before moving to Albany, GA and starting a business with his uncle. While in Albany, he met and married the former Patricia Fourakres, from Lakeland, GA in 1967. In 1974, the Denmarks moved to Valdosta to expand their business, D&S Tile Distributors. In the early 1980's, Glenn moved on from the tile business and began work with the City of Valdosta as a Building Inspector. He worked there until his retirement in the mid 1990's. Glenn was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying being outside and deer hunting. As an artist and a craftsman, he loved making things with his hands for family & friends. He was also skilled at drafting and drawing plans for projects and buildings. Glenn loved his family and he loved his Jesus. He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Pat Denmark of Valdosta; his three children, Andrew G. Denmark of Valdosta, Melissa (Bruce) Wetherington of Acworth, Deania (Myles) Johnston of Dudley; seven grandchildren, Braydon & Makenna Denmark of Valdosta, Zackery & Caleb Wetherington of Acworth and Beth-Anne, Allie & Eric Johnston of Dudley. Also surviving are in-laws and other family members, Jo Molock, Mickey & Kay Fourakers, Tammy & Jody Renfroe, Jolie Denmark, Margaret Lightsey and numerous other cousins, nieces & nephews.

The funeral for Glenn will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2017 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Pastors Tommy Bussey and Myles Johnston will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, July 5, 2017, from 5 until 7 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donation may be made to Hospice of South Georgia, 2263 Pineview Dr. Valdosta, GA 31602 or The Mailbox Club, 404 Eager Road, Valdosta, GA 31602.
