Glenda Graham Evans

September 14, 1928 — March 29, 2017

Glenda Graham Evans, 88, of Valdosta, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Langdale Hospice House with her children by her side. Mrs. Evans was born on September 14, 1928 in Live Oak, Florida to the late Glenn William and Gladys Hamilton Graham. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church where she had served as the President of the Womans Missionary Union, taught children's Sunday school, worked with the Girls Auxiliary, and served on other church committees. Mrs. Evans was a Librarian with South Georgia Regional Library and was a member of the South Georgia Medical Center Auxiliary and the Garden Club. She was the epitome of a true southern lady and all who knew and loved her called her Nannie.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Evans Johnson, and her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Glenn Hamilton Evans, Sr. all of Valdosta; her grandchildren, Cynthia Gayle Justice, Martha Amanda Goins, Crystal Gayle Everett, Glenn Hamilton Evans, Jr., Caroline Graham Evans, Marc Davison Evans, Elizabeth Rainey Evans; great-grandchildren, Brayden Justice, Brenna Justice, Bayln Justice, Blair Justice, Conner Everett, Carly Everett, Glenn Hamilton Evans III, Madison Evans, Lucas Goins, and Olivia Goins; sister-in-law, Gloria Evans Smith; a brother-in-law, Richard Evans; two nephews, William Sweat and Gregory Earle Sweat; a niece, Cordelia Rowell. Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Davison Evans, Sr.; her son, Davison Evans, Jr.; a grandson, Eric Tucker, and her sister, Grace Earle Sweat.
A graveside service for Glenda Graham Evans will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 in the Live Oak City Cemetery in Live Oak, Florida with Rev. Mac Weaver officiating.
