Gladys Talbert Tew, 80, of Fayetteville, North Carolina died Monday, June 14, 2010 in Hahira at the home of her son and daughter in law, David and Tammy. She was born in Robbins, North Carolina on June 10, 1930 to the late Alexander Joseph Talbert and Claudie Mae Moore Talbert. Mrs. Tew retired from the Cumberland County North Carolina School System as a teacher assistant and was member of the Arran Lake Baptist Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Michael and Diane Tew of Willow Springs, NC., daughter and son in law, Penny and Randy Carr of Morehead City, NC., son and daughter in law, David and Tammy Tew of Hahira, five grandchildren, Lesley (Jerry) Lynch of Four Oaks, NC., Rebekah Tew, Madison Tew both of Hahira, Samantha Carr and Britney Carr both of Morehead City, NC., two sisters and a brother in law, Edna Stinebeck, Buddy and Cora Atkinson all of Fayetteville, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Tew and two sisters, Sue Newbold and Mazie Blackman.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Arran Lake Baptist Church in Fayetteville, North Carolina with entombment to follow in Lafayette Memorial Park and Masoleum in Fayetteville. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8pm at the funeral home in Fayetteville. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com.
