Gladys Parrish Raulerson

Gladys Parrish Raulerson, 90, of Echols County, died on March 20, 2010, at Lee County Health Care in Leesburg, Georgia. Born on February 29, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Rosa Lee Parrish and widow of the late Louis Raulerson who she was married to for 60 years. Mrs. Raulerson was a lifelong resident of Echols County until moving to Lee County Health Care several years ago. She retired as postmistress in Haylow in Echols county. She served as Chairman of the Echols County Heart Fund for many years and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.


Survivors are her sons, Tom Raulerson and his wife, Margie of Waycross, Kelly Raulerson of Albany; grandchildren, Parrish Hester, Nat Hester, Thomas Hester, David Raulerson, and Robin Raulerson Mehler; several great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Gayle Hester and sisters, Myrtis Simpson and Lunita Knox.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church in Echols County, with Reverend Wayne Boykin officiating. Burial will follow at Wayfare Cemetery.
