Gladys Copeland Price, 76, lifetime resident of Valdosta, died on Thursday March 2, 2006 at South Georgia Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born in Colquitt County, on March 14, 1929, she was the daughter of the late James I. and Mary Jane Tompkins Tyson and widow of the late Perry James Price. She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors are her son and daughter in law, John and Belinda Copeland of Lake Park, daughter and son in law, Tammye and Henry Spivey of Clyattville, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, brother, George and Edna Tyson of Jennings, Florida, sisters, Ethel Hammock of Pinetta, Florida, Vera Copeland of Dasher, Betty Gillen of Valdosta, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Evelyne Weldon and a brother, Elbert Tyson.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2006, at 2 p.m. at the graveside at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com.
