Gisela (Chris) Lagioia, 89, of Valdosta, passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014, at Langdale Hospice House. She was born March 29, 1925 in Hanover, Germany, a daughter of the late William and Mary Rotteger. Mrs. Lagioia was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church and was a homemaker. Her husband of 59 years, Michael Lagioia preceded her in death. She was a beautiful and loving wife and mother.
Survivors are one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Susannah Lagioia of Valdosta; one daughter, Patricia Ann Lagioia of Valdosta; one granddaughter, Lindsay Cooper of Hahira; three step-grandsons , Dusty and wife Cindy Statham of Tifton; Dr. Jess Rentz and wife Stephanie of Lake Park, and Jamey and wife Brooke Rentz of Hahira; two great-granddaughters, Caroline Cooper and Anna Cate Cooper; four step-great granddaughters, Meri Alyce Statham of Tifton; Riley and Jesslyn Rentz of Lake Park, Ella Rentz of Hahira; one step great grandson, Toby Rentz of Lake Park; two sisters-in-law and husbands, Annamae and Chester Fuller of Chicago, Illinois, Marilyn and Joseph Aquino of Franklin Lakes, New Jersey and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2014, at the Messiah Lutheran Church, with Reverend Joshua Brown officiating. Entombment will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Lagioia's family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m., Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to Langdale Hospice House.
