Ginger Simpson Daugherty

Ginger Simpson Daugherty, 71, of Valdosta died Thursday, May 1, 2014. She was born in Valdosta on February 11, 1943 to the late James Wylie and Myrtis Parrish Simpson. Mrs. Daugherty was a member of the Forrest Park Church of Christ and loved to travel.

Survivors include her two sons: Greg Daugherty and his companion, Elizabeth Ridnour, Doug and Stacie Daugherty, three grandchildren, Brett Daugherty, Drew Daugherty and Kyleigh Daugherty, two great grandchildren all of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Felton Daugherty and her sister, Donna Faye Kitchens.

The family expresses appreciation to her caregivers, Rita Mathis and Brenda Birdsong for the care they have given Mrs. Daugherty during her illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Saturday, May 3, 2014 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Ryan Tuten officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
