Ginger “Gigi” Taylor, 71, of Hahira went to be with Jesus Saturday, November 20, 2021 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was born on February 25, 1950 in Dougherty County to the late Kenneth Carden and Margie Bryant Lifsey and had lived in Hahira for many years. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Charity Baptist Church and a retired Registered Nurse with the Hahira Health Department. Ginger loved family and friends and sought to serve and minister to children. She was instrumental in the start of school nursing in Lowndes County. Her more recent ministry was the nursery program at Charity Baptist Church. She dearly loved all her extended family but became especially close to Patti Lee whom she viewed as a sister, through her later years.
Survivors include her husband, Freddie Taylor of Hahira; her five sons and four daughters in law, Matt Taylor of Dallas, TX, Aaron and Rebecca Taylor of Peachtree City, GA, Ben and Lori Taylor of Hahira. Luke and Jessica Taylor of Atlanta, Josh and Laila Taylor of Hahira; her grandchildren, Sawyer Taylor, Perry Taylor, Kolten Taylor, Cooper Taylor, Kennedi Taylor, Dean Taylor, Lane Shierling; her nephew, Justin Burns. She is preceded in death by her sister, Kendra Burns.
Funeral services will be held at 10am, Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Beau Washburn and Rev. Lee Graham officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday at Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 4103 Bay Rockyford Road, Moultrie, GA 31768. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-8pm at the Martin/McLane Funeral Home. The family prefers consideration of donations to the Nursery Program at Charity Baptist Church, 4690 Shiloh Road, Hahira, GA 31632.
