Gerald (Jerry) Mcclain

Gerald (Jerry) McClain, 82, of Valdosta died on Friday, September 29, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. He was born on February 7, 1935 in St. Lois, Missouri to the late Orville and Florence Mesplay McClain. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was employed as a supervisor with Slone Associates. Mr. McClain loved golfing, camping, and his wood-working skills were widely known. He was a member of Lake Park Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Tiner McClain of Valdosta; four sons, Steve McClain, Michael McClain, David McClain and Danny McClain; his brother, Vernon McClain of Garfield, Arkansas; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Judy Tiner, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joyce and Peyton Bradley all of Fernandina Beach, Florida; several nieces and nephews, and his friends and co-workers at Slone Associates.
Services for Gerald (Jerry) McClain will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Lake Park Church of God with Rev. Keith Sandlin officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at the church. The private family committal will take place on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 in Fernandina Beach, Florida.
