Gerald Harvey Dixon, 68, of Valdosta died Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on January 23, 1945 in Brooks County, GA to the late Thomas Harvey Dixon and Lona Myrl Hicks Dixon. Mr. Dixon was a carpenter.
He is survived by one daughter and son in law, Dee Dee and Willie Williams of Valdosta, one son and daughter in law, Gerald and Nikki Dixon of Great Falls, Montana, eight grandchildren, Alexis Williams, Chelsie Williams, Christopher Williams, Gabrielle Williams, Shelby Williams, Ivy Dixon, Kaleb Dixon and Alex Dixon, two brothers and sisters in law, Tommy and Joyce Dixon and Marvin and Angela Dixon of Valdosta, four sisters and two brothers in law, Harriet Sutton of Valdosta, Ruby Edwards of Asheville, NC, Linda Faye and Mike Gilliam of Valdosta and Darlene and Charles Keeling of Adel, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Dixon is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Leroy Dixon and Woodrow Dixon and one sister, Frances Parker.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 6, 2013 at eleven a. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Ferrell Morris of Grace Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Thursday at the funeral home.
