Georgia Mae Pollock, 96, of Valdosta died Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on June 2, 1919 in Mitchell County, GA to the late Green Berry Palmer and Pearlie Mae Neesmith Palmer. Mrs. Pollock was a homemaker and a member of Westside Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter in law, Lamar Pollock and Eugene and Debbie Pollock, three daughters and two sons in law, Annie Pearl Brooks, Loraine and James Folsom and Juanita and Reverend Ted Sauls, Sr. all of Valdosta, seven grandchildren, Nancy Ann Morrison (Jack), Donna Sue Bozeman (Alton), Judy Duda (Jimmy), Melissa Renee Fletcher, Daniel Eugene Pollock (Jennifer), Ted Sauls, Jr. (Jenny) and Tina Marie Sauls, ten great grandchildren and one on the way, nine great great grandchildren and one on the way, four sisters in law, Betty Hill of Lake Placid, FL, Betty Pollock of North Carolina, Kathleen Burnham of Jennings, FL and Ida Pollock of Valdosta, several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Pollock is predeceased by her husband, Ellis Eugene Pollock, daughter in law, Nell Pollock, a son in law, Chester L. Brooks, four brothers and four sisters. The family is especially thankful for her caregiver, Dr. Larry Smith.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 28, 2016 at four p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Ted Sauls, Sr. and Reverend Wayne Boykin officiating. Burial will follow at Benevolence Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Saturday at the funeral home.
