George Mulkey

George Mulkey, 77, of Quitman, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 following a period of declining health. He was born on March 20, 1943 to the late Johnny Richard Mulkey and Abbie York. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Following his tenure in the Army, he went into farming and retired after 20 years of dedicated service in the farming industry. He had attended Calvary Chapel in Thomasville and was a member of the American Legion Post #0324 in Moultrie.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Richie and Claudia Mulkey of Brunswick, Georgia; a daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Keith Croft of Moultrie, Georgia; two grandsons, Noah Mulkey of Brunswick, and Kacey Croft of Moultrie; siblings and their spouses, J.B. and Carolyn Jones of Athens, Chris Lorraine and Tina Hunnicutt both of Moultrie, Barbara and Edward McDonald of Willacoochee, and Linda Brantley of Ocilla; several nieces and nephews and other extended family. Mr. Mulkey was preceded in death by his siblings Evoline McLean, Ruby Turner, LW Jones, WR Mulkey, AC Jones and Geri Clements.
A memorial service for George Mulkey will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Perrin officiating. Condolences to the family may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane.
