George Harris

George Harris, 74, of Hahira, died recently at his residence. He was born on January 8, 1938 in Lowndes County to the late Wiley Harris and Jewel Lee Jones Harris. Mr. Harris was retired from Strickland Cotton Mills.

He is survived by four sons and daughters in law, William and Brenda Harris of Sparks, Daniel Harris and Lisa Harris Cook, James and Julia Harris, Dewayne and Missy Harris, all of Adel, thirteen grandchildren, Bo Lee, Blake Harris, Brandon Harris, Cody Hudgins, Cory Greene, Jonathan Daniel Harris, Jennifer Harris Huffine, Joannie Miranda Harris, Jennie Marie Harris, Marissa Harris Foster, Sherrie Harris, David Harris and Maggie Harris, eight great grandchildren, three brothers and sisters in law, Jack and Bobbie Harris of Providence, FL, Jerry and Ruby Harris of Hahira, David and Cheryl Harris of Brandon, FL, four sisters, Marie Smith of Brandon, FL, Dorothy Hodges of Valdosta, Barbara Riner of Hahira and Wanda Gaskin of Lake City, FL. Mr. Harris is preceded in death by two brothers, Bill (Jay) Harris and I. W. Harris and two sisters, Margaret Hightower and Mary Gibbs.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 8, 2012 at three p. m. at the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens in Valdosta.
