George H. Wynn

George H. Wynn, 78, of Lake Park died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, October 15, 2016. He was born on January 11, 1938 in Palatka, Florida, the son of the late Broward and Louise Hunter Wynn of Jasper, Florida. He was raised in Jasper, FL, graduated from Berry High School in 1956 and Berry College in 1963, Rome, GA with a B. S. in Agriculture. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He graduated from John Marshall Law School and practiced law in Lakeland and Valdosta area since 1974. He took pride in representing the common man.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Bragg Wynn of Lake Park; his daughter, Emily (Jeremy) Andrews of Sandersville, GA; his son, Hunter Wynn of Valdosta; his sister, Joanne Creedon of Gainesville, VA; his stepchildren, Scott (Becki) Bennett, of Lake Park, Tracey (Don) Hall of Big Canoe, GA. his grandchildren, Lillie Tate Andrews, Wynn Andrews, Ella Andrews; his stepgrandchildren, Tanner Bennett, Lorelei Bennett, Jake Bennett, Kenny Hall. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Wynn of Jasper, FL.
He was a member of the Lake Park United Methodist Church, a Mason and Shriner,. He was past president and treasurer of the Lakeland Lions Club, Sunday School Teacher, past Director of Patten Seed Company, Farmer and Merchants Bank and Lanier County Development Center. He loved golf, nature and old people.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm, Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in the chapel of McLane Lakewood Funeral Home, 3119 W. Marion Ave, Lake Park, GA. A private committal will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, FL. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5-7pm at the Lakewood Funeral Home.
