Genie Minter, 48, of Valdosta died on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born in Milledgeville, Georgia on October 14, 1965 to Eugene Linden Minter, Sr. and the late Helen Janette Mercer Minter. She was employed with Pleats and Creases and had attended Victory Baptist Church. Genie had a big heart and loved to laugh. She liked to fish and was a great cook. Genie loved her sons and grandchildren and they were a joy for her and were the loves of her life. Life with the confidence that nothing can separate them from the love of God, death is just a short trip home. All better.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Randi Minter and Justin and Tiffany Minter; two grandchildren, Jaxon Minter and Kylie Minter all of Lake Park; her father, Eugene L. Minter, Sr. of Valdosta; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Terry Hart, Lee and John Wisenbaker, Sr., Lisa Swann, Belinda and David Eudy all of Valdosta, Donna and Darrell Kimbrell of Douglasville, Georgia and Brenda and Steve Day of Dunn, North Carolina; a brother and sister-in-law, Lin and Tracy Minter of Valdosta; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephew.
Services for Genie Minter will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in the chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Ward officiating. The burial will follow in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home.
