Geneva Stewart

Geneva Stewart, 90, of Valdosta, died on Friday, January 1, 2021 at South Georgia Medical Center following a period of declining health. She was born in Hahira, Georgia on October 8, 1930 to the late Thomas Franklin and Frances Iduma Jones Jernigan. She was a retired seamstress and had worked for Levi’s locally.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Vickie Browning of Valdosta; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Mary Ann Jernigan of Valdosta, Gene and Barbara Jernigan of Hahira, and Charles and Vickie Jernigan of Valdosta; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Linda Gail and Dennis Ellis of Marietta, Georgia and Mary Shiver of Valdosta; 7 grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janice Peal Williams.
Services for Geneva Stewart will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. The burial will follow in the McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
