Gene Prance, 82, of Valdosta, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 16, 2016.
He was born March 20, 1933 in Bainbridge, a son of the late Willie Prance, Sr. and Rosetta Miller. Mr. Prance honorably served in the U.S. Army, and for many years was a Flooring Installer in the Thomasville area. He loved fishing and spending time with his granddaughters and his special friend Miss Flo Guess.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Grace and Reggie Davis of Valdosta; two granddaughters, Emily Hogan and Baylie Davis; a half-sister, Becky Morey and husband Donald of Hahira; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Kleiser Prance; a brother, Willie Prance, Jr.; three sisters, Violet Poirot, Laverne Prance, and Pearl Prance; and a half-brother, Ike Mote.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Prance will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Forrest Park Church of Christ. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home and McLane Crematory, Valdosta.
