Gene Porter

Gene Porter, 64, of Lake Park, died on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at Shands in Gainesville, FL after a short illness. He was born on February 24, 1942 and was a lifelong resident of Lake Park. He worked at TSG Industry and was a veteran of the United States Army. He attended Lake Park Church of Christ.

Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie and Raymond Lee and Wanda and Beck Yeomans all of Valdosta; son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Ronda Porter of Brooks County; grandchildren, Bobby Gene Lee, Chaz Lee, Danielle Harnage, Dustin Harnage, Matthew Porter all of Valdosta, Tony Porter of Brooks Co., Deanna Dozier of Hahira; four great grandchildren; his father, Claude Porter, Sr. of Lake Park; sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Andrew Pazgan of Pennsylvania; brothers and sisters-in-law, Claude, Jr. and Carolyn Porter of Jacksonville, Johnny and Katherine Porter, George and Iva Porter all of Lake Park, Harry and Connie Porter of Lakeland, FL and Raymond and Angie Porter of Lake Park. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann McCann Porter and his mother, Inell Kinsey Porter.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2006 in the chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home with Evangelist Evans McMullen and Mr. Eric Winslow officiating. Burial will follow at Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
