Gene Ellis Lucas

Gene Ellis Lucas, 52, of Naylor, GA died Sunday, July 31, 2016. He was born on December 2, 1963 in Mobile, AL. Gene served his country in the United States Navy and was attached to the Marine Corp. He served as a Youth Pastor at Alberta Gary Memorial United Methodist Church in Columbia, Maryland and as a teenager served in the Civil Air Patrol. Gene was also retired as an apparel warehouse manager in Tallahassee, FL.
He is survived by his son, Caleb Lucas of Kensington, Maryland, fiancé, Dana Dalby of Naylor, his mother, Sue Gutierrez of Temecula, CA, brother, David Lucas of Kentucky and best friends, Pat Wortwick, his wife, Marti, daughter, Amber and son, Logan. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil David Lucas.
A visitation will begin Thursday, August 4, 2016 at three p. m. until four p. m. in the magnolia room chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with a brief eulogy to follow. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanecares.com.
