Gene Ashley Hill

Gene Ashley Hill, 86, of Valdosta, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of Valdosta, born July 26, 1931 to the late Harry and Edna Smith Hill. He was a graduate of Valdosta State College. Mr. Hill was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce and former Vice President/Treasurer of 1st Federal Savings & Loan Association. He was a Valdosta City Councilman and a director of Downtown Valdosta, Inc. and Valdosta Boys Club.
Mr. Hill is survived by his children, Nancy Jane Hill, of Tallahassee, FL, Wade Rowland Hill (Debbie) of Tennessee, and Craig Ashley Hill, of Lake Park, and his grandchildren Stephen Hill, Phillip Hill, Callie Temple (Andrew), his brother Billy Hill (Carolyn) of Valdosta, and his loving companion Barbara Hill, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Douglas Hill.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Gupton officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
