Gay Moore

Gay Dollar Moore, 71, of Valdosta, died Tuesday, December 5, 2006 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born in Grady County, GA on August 23, 1935 to the late Edmond F. and Margarette Hunt Dollar. Mrs. Moore was a retired registered nurse and a member of the Swilley Hill Church of God. She entered the nursing profession upon graduating from Crawford Long School of Nursing in 1955. She began her nursing career at Pineview General Hospital later known as South Georgia Medical Center. Mrs. Moore continued her dedicated obstetrical nursing career working in local obstetrical practices for many years, which she enjoyed tremendously. After retiring from the nursing profession, she became a small business owner. Mrs. Moore was a devoted wife and mother who served God faithfully.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Moore, Sr. of Valdosta, her children and their spouses, Margarette and Pat Kelley of Albany, GA, Cleve Moore, Katherine Moore and Richard and Jackie Mooore, all of Valdosta, her grandchildren and their spouses, Ellen and John Marion, Krissy and Tim Jenkins, Patrick Kelley, Joseph Kelley, Andrew Moore, Emilee Moore and Michael Kelley, two great grandchildren, Brad Joseph Marion and Kaitlyn Rose Marion, two sisters and one brother in law, Joy Collins of Cotton, GA, Judy and Jack Bryan of Valdosta, one brother, Jerry Dollar of Grady County, GA.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 8, 2006 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Bobby Frier and Reverend Bobby Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Thursday at the funeral home.
