Gary Wayne Dupree, 37 of Valdosta, died suddenly on Saturday, August 19, 2006 in Nashville, where he was raised. Born on March 10, 1969 in Lakeland, he was the son of L. V. Dupree and the late Sherlene Trosper Dupree. He was a Glass Contractor for Lowndes Contracting. Gary was a member of Morningside Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher in the Children’s Department. He loved to fish and hunt and especially loved taking his son, Justin with him. He was a wonderful husband and father and loved his family and church family very much. Gary touched many lives. All who knew him dearly loved him and will greatly miss him.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Holtzclaw Dupree and his sons, Justin and Ryan Dupree, all of Valdosta; his father, L. V. Dupree of Nashville; sister and brother-in-law, Sheri and Dane Lancaster, niece, Dana Lancaster, nephew, Dustin Lancaster all of Nashville; his grandmother, Kizzie Dupree of Ray City; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Chuck and Marie Holtzclaw, nephew, Caleb Holtzclaw all of Valdosta; parents-in-law, Charles and Nancy Holtzclaw of Valdosta; grandmother-in-law, Julia Padgett of Valdosta and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sherlene Trosper Dupree.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Pastor Wayne Robertson and Reverend John Yates both of Morningside Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at New Ramah Cemetery in Ray City.
